Default Convention?

Does anyone know if NC Soft or Arena Net has said anything about a Official Guild Wars Convention. I really think its about time for one.

I believe they arent big enough for a one company convention, except for signings, tournaments, and representations at different electronic/gaming/etc. conventions. (E3 comes to mind.--genre type conventions)

If you check the official site. www.guildwars.com there's probably a list of where they've made appearances since release of Proph and maybe future appearances (like the just announced nf launch signing event).

Or. Email them(Anet) for specific info. sure they'll be glad that people are interested in these things.

/g'day.

I think it'd be really cool to have a big ol' get together of some kind. (Or even a small one. I just like meeting players. ) So far we've been able to meet up at various venues, like E3, PAX, GC, etc. But our own, official convention? I don't know about that, quite yet. I'll sure pass along the suggestion, though, and thanks for the note of interest!

I think it would be great if that could happen. When the Lord of the Rings movies were winning Oscars, there were Oscar parties in Hollywood for fans to come and enjoy. There were also other conventions. It was much more intimate than an E3 convention would be. So far, I think most of the gatherings outside the game is still on the internet on here and other forums and websites.

I think at this early stage in GW life a convention JUST for GW would have to be fan organized. We want the team hard at work on chapter 4 don't we?

I think a general MMO Game Convention would be spectacular though. Enough fans of the genra to pack a large convention center.

I wonder, if there was a GW con, and the anet crew went out to grab a beer or whatever afterwards. How many fans would bribe Gaile with drinks to get her to point out who the frog is?

lol, I'm just picturing Gail and the rest of the Anet crew. Drunk and revealing all kinds of information.

Gail: "The frog?" *hic* "I love frogs! That's why I had the developers make me a frog character to talk to players with."

Jeff: "Gwen? What do you know about my niece? Oh, you mean the game charactor, yea, she's dead. I'M KING OF THE WORLD!"

Alex: "Make the spinning stop...."

lol, we must have it now!

I would come to a convention if it was close enough.

A better idea is a bus like the oscar meyer weiner bus, it goes around with super fast compies that you can play on.
